"IL FAIT NUIT À SARAJEVO"
Un œil vigilant et un esprit attentif, des feutres et un chevalet, de 18 heures à 3 heures du matin, ce 12 mars 1994. Un regard extérieur, parfois caustique, humoristique, sur une nuit de débats et d'informations autour d'un conflit qui nous préoccupe : « Il fait nuit à Sarajevo ». Serdu improvise, croque, provoque, se fait complice du public et des intervenants et enrichit la soirée d'un véritable marathon graphique, une performance exceptionnelle. Une centaine de dessins qui s'accumulent à ses pieds sont précieusement recueillis et exposés dans leur intégralité à la Rose des Vents. Une sélection de ces œuvres se veut un clin d'œil souvenir, que l'on souhaite pouvoir oublier très vite. Chacun de ceux qui ont participé à cette opération s'est investi pleinement. Les artistes, les intervenants, le personnel d'accueil et les techniciens ont, à mon appel, consacré leur soirée à la paix à Sarajevo. De même, chaque visiteur, par sa présence à la Rose des Vents, a manifesté son engagement. Qu'ils en soient tous remerciés et félicités.

"ES IST NACHT IN SARAJEVO"
Ein wachsames Auge und ein aufmerksamer Geist, Filzstifte und eine Staffelei, von 18 Uhr bis 3 Uhr morgens, an diesem 12. März 1994. Ein Blick von außen, manchmal bissig, humorvoll, auf eine Nacht voller Debatten und Informationen rund um einen Konflikt, der uns beschäftigt: „Es ist Nacht in Sarajevo“. Serdu improvisiert, skizziert, provoziert, macht sich zum Komplizen des Publikums und der Mitwirkenden und bereichert den Abend mit einem regelrechten grafischen Marathon, einer außergewöhnlichen Performance. Rund hundert Zeichnungen, die sich zu seinen Füßen ansammeln, werden sorgfältig eingesammelt und vollständig in der Rose des Vents ausgestellt. Eine Auswahl dieser Werke versteht sich als augenzwinkernde Erinnerung, von der wir hoffen, sie sehr bald vergessen zu können. Jeder, der an dieser Aktion teilgenommen hat, hat sich mit vollem Einsatz eingebracht. Die Künstler, die Mitwirkenden, das Empfangspersonal und die Techniker haben auf meinen Aufruf hin ihren Abend dem Frieden in Sarajevo gewidmet. Ebenso hat jeder Besucher durch seine Anwesenheit in der Rose des Vents sein Engagement zum Ausdruck gebracht. Ihnen allen sei dafür gedankt und gratuliert.

"IT IS NIGHT IN SARAJEVO"
A watchful eye and an attentive mind, felt-tip pens and an easel, from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., on this 12 March 1994. An outside perspective, at times caustic, humorous, on a night of debates and information surrounding a conflict that concerns us: “It is Night in Sarajevo”. Serdu improvises, sketches, provokes, becomes an accomplice of the audience and the participants, and enriches the evening with a veritable graphic marathon, an exceptional performance. Around a hundred drawings, accumulating at his feet, are carefully collected and exhibited in their entirety at the Rose des Vents. A selection of these works is intended as a souvenir with a wink, one that we hope we will very soon be able to forget. Everyone who took part in this initiative committed themselves fully. The artists, the participants, the reception staff and the technicians, in response to my appeal, devoted their evening to peace in Sarajevo. Likewise, every visitor, through their presence at the Rose des Vents, demonstrated their commitment. May they all be thanked and congratulated for it.
